Hospitality Sunday

Hospitality Sunday, February 12. Please stop by after all the Masses on Hospitality Sunday - and offer thanks
and congratulations to our Sacristan, Edward Weisenburger as he leaves his work here to begin a career as a New
York City Police Officer. Eddie was called to join the class of new recruits that began on January 9th. We wish Eddie well; assure him of our gratitude for his faithful service to the parish and
assure him of our prayers and best wishes.

MUSIC MINISTRY NOTES

Now that we are all more familiar with the new words of the
Gloria, please join in singing the entire text with the cantor. We have been singing the Gloria for more than three months and after hearing it I am sure that the new/altered melody is one you will find easy to sing. The Youth Choir is always looking for additional children to join in our song. If your child is in the 3-8 grade and loves to sing, please contact the Music Office at 718-746-3862. We rehearse every Tuesday at 3:30 in the Music Room and sing for the Family Mass once a month. The children are taught the basics of music as well as choral singing and etiquette.

YOUTH MINISTRY CORNER

Our January “Movie Night” with the Youth Group was a success. The youth had a great time. We had popcorn, soda and chips. The movie was called “The Pursuit of Happyness” a 2007 movie about a father’s struggle to provide for him and his young son.
Based on a true story, Chris Gardner loses everything and becomes homeless. Overcoming all odds he lands a position at Dean Witter and goes on to become a millionaire. Our youth
learned that there are people out there who are struggling and that are in need of our help. They also learned that we should thank God for what we do have and that each day is a
blessing. Next month we are looking forward to going ice skating at Flushing Meadow Park.

ST. FIDELIS FOOD PANTRY

Please help with donations of food. The Food Pantry is in need of coffee, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, sauce, soup, cereal and canned fruit. If you are able to help, please bring all donations of the canned food to the vestibule of the church and place them in the food pantry basket. Thank you for your generosity in a time of need.
